The airport bus is a useful option if you are staying in central Tirana or connecting to an intercity bus. The important choice is the destination: the city-centre stop and the South and North Bus Terminal are separate services.
Choose the right airport bus

The airport lists LU-NA as the operator. Its published journey estimates are 30–40 minutes for the centre and 20–30 minutes for the terminal. These are estimates, not guaranteed arrival times.
If you are staying in Tirana
Compare the city-centre stop with your accommodation’s exact address. Consider the final walk with luggage, stairs and the time of arrival. A central bus stop does not mean every hotel is within a comfortable walking distance.
After collecting your luggage, follow airport transport signs and check the destination with the driver before boarding. Leave time to locate the stop and buy your ticket; landing time is not the same as being ready to leave the terminal.
If you are continuing to another city
Confirm the departure terminal for your onward service before choosing the airport connection. The South and North Bus Terminal option is relevant only if your onward bus actually leaves from there. Avoid booking a tight connection based solely on the airport’s estimated road journey.
Keep the onward operator’s contact information and departure location accessible offline. If your flight is delayed, contact the operator about the next available departure rather than assuming your ticket transfers automatically.
Taking the bus back to the airport
Use the confirmed departure stop for your chosen service and work backward from your airline’s check-in deadline. Allow time for traffic, waiting for the next departure and airport formalities. The published road travel time should be only one part of that calculation.
