Choosing a coffee shop in Tirana is easier when you start with your route and the kind of stop you want: a quick espresso, a longer breakfast or somewhere to sit between sights. This is a planning guide, not a ranking based on claimed personal visits.
Two operators to check
Mulliri i Vjetër
Mulliri i Vjetër provides its own website and contact information. Use the operator’s location information to choose a branch near your itinerary. Confirm that branch’s hours and menu; the company’s general contact address should not be mistaken for every café location.
Mulliri Gourmet
Mulliri Gourmet is a separate concept from the same coffee company, presenting specialty coffee and cocktails. Consult its current information if you want a longer stop rather than assuming every Mulliri branch has the same offering.
Choose a convenient neighbourhood
When sightseeing, look for a stop close to Skanderbeg Square, Pazari i Ri or Blloku, depending on where your day takes you. Check the exact map location before walking across town. A café described as “central” may still be inconvenient for your next stop.
How to order
- Një kafe, ju lutem: a coffee, please. Specify espresso, cappuccino or another preparation if that matters to you.
- Pa sheqer: without sugar.
- Sa kushton? how much does it cost?
- Faleminderit: thank you.
Espresso and coffee prepared in a cezve are different drinks. Ask which preparation is offered instead of expecting a single standard “Albanian coffee”.
Check before settling in
Read the menu in lek, ask about card payment, and check ingredients if you need a milk alternative. If you intend to work, ask whether laptops are welcome and whether sockets and Wi-Fi are available. We have not tested individual cafés for remote work.
