A Weekend in Dhërmi: Beaches, Village and Practical Planning

Dhërmi combines a hillside village with a coastal beach area on the Albanian Riviera. Choose where to stay before planning your weekend: a room described as “Dhërmi” may not be within an easy walk of the sea.

Day 1: settle into the beach area

Check in and spend the first afternoon near your accommodation. Before renting loungers, ask for the total price, how long the rental lasts and whether there is a minimum spend. Keep drinks, parking and food separate when comparing beach costs.

Choose a swimming spot according to the conditions on the day. Clear water in photographs does not establish safe swimming conditions. Follow local warnings and avoid assuming supervision or lifeguards are present.

Day 2: the village and one extra stop

Leave time to explore the old village and its streets, using suitable shoes for slopes and paving. Confirm access before entering religious buildings and respect services and residential areas.

If you want another beach, investigate Drymades as a separate outing and check the actual route from your accommodation. Avoid adding several distant beaches to a single afternoon. Gjipe needs its own assessment of access, walking and return arrangements.

Getting there without a car

Confirm with your operator whether the service stops on the main road, in the village or near the beach. Arrange the final transfer to your accommodation and check the return service in advance. A stop labelled “Dhërmi” does not guarantee a door-to-door connection.

Booking checklist

  • Exact accommodation location and access from the road.
  • Parking or transfer arrangements.
  • Which restaurants and beach services operate on your dates.
  • Room, breakfast and beach-access inclusions.

Use dated quotes rather than a single fixed budget: peak and shoulder-season arrangements can differ substantially.
